I have bought hats from ‘47 for years, and the newest purchase is so disappointing. The material is thin and weak, the stitching is basic and missing the detail and reinforcement the previous hats had. The cost is more expensive and the product is less quality. Obviously this change is due to the acquisition of ‘47 by New Era and it sucks that they have no regard for the quality that made ‘47 amazing and worth the money. I’m disgusted by their choice to take an amazing product and make it as cheap as possible and calling it the same.
The stitching around the TC has reinforced gold threads outlining the red and blue in the original hat, and on the back the Twin’s is embellished with white shadowing. I can’t show the difference in the fabric, but it is undeniable. The new hats are thin, stretch easily, and are nowhere near the quality. The original was made in Macau, and the new one is made in Vietnam. I hope this review helps others who are debating purchasing from “ ‘47 “ they are definitely not the same.
