BOSTON CELTICS
Founded in 1946 as a charter member of the NBA, the Celtics are one of the most successful franchises in NBA history. With the arrival of coach Red Auerbach in 1950, the Celtics would go on to dominate the league and win the NBA championship in 11 out of 13 seasons from 1957 to 1969, with a record eight consecutive titles from ‘59 to ’66. The Celtics have the most recorded wins of any NBA team, plus a total of 32 division titles and 17 NBA championships, tied for the most of any team in league history.
Our Boston Celtics ’47 Sigma tee celebrates the 17-time NBA champions. The front features an illustration of Lucky the Leprechaun tallying each title, while the “Celtic Pride” text honors their loyal fanbase with a traditional Irish typeface. The rear features a graphic inspired by the championship banners hanging in the rafters of the Garden. The matching Celtics ’47 HITCH is a structured snapback crafted from pigment-dyed black twill with Celtic green embroidery.
CHICAGO BULLS
One of the NBA’s great dynasties, the Bulls were established in 1966 as an expansion franchise and won their first division title in 1975. But it would be in the ‘90s that the Bulls would come to dominate the sport, winning three consecutive NBA championships from 1991 to 1993. They would become the first NBA team to win 70 games in a single season, with 72 wins in the ’95-’96 season, a record that stood until 2016. The Bulls would go on to achieve a second championship three-peat in the ’95-’98 seasons, for a total of six NBA titles.
Our Chicago Bulls ’47 Sigma tee one of the NBA’s most successful teams. The front of the tee features the team’s iconic wordmark plus six championship trophies representing each title-winning season, while the back’s basketball illustration alludes to the team’s center court logo design. Our Bulls ’47 HITCH echoes these designs with meticulously embroidered details on a pigment-dyed black twill snapback.
LOS ANGELES LAKERS
Established in 1947, the Minneapolis Lakers joined the NBA in 1948 and would win five of the next six championships from 1949 to 1954. The Lakers made the move to LA in 1960, where they would appear in six NBA Finals during the decade. But it was the Lakers of the ‘80s who would make the biggest impact, with nine conference titles and five NBA championships from 1980 to 1991. One of the most successful teams in the NBA, the Lakers have won 33 division titles and 17 NBA championships, tied for the most in league history.
Our Los Angeles Lakers ’47 Sigma tee honors the Lakers with Hollywood searchlights and a pink star with gold metallic wordmark resembling the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The back of the tee features a center court illustration surrounded by 17 stars representing each NBA championship. Our Lakers ’47 HITCH mirrors these designs with intricately detailed embroidery on a pigment-dyed black twill snapback.
NEW YORK KNICKS
One of the founding members of the NBA, the Knickerbockers defeated the Toronto Huskies in the first-ever NBA game in 1946. The Knicks would appear in three consecutive NBA Finals from 1951 to 1953, but their greatest success would come in the early ‘70s with NBA titles in 1970 and 1973. The Knicks would electrify Madison Square Garden again in the 1990s with consistent playoff appearances and two more conference championships. Overall, the Knicks have won eight division titles and two NBA championships.
Our New York Knicks ’47 Sigma tee celebrates one of the most popular teams in the NBA. The front of the tee features an illustration of New York City highlighted by type capturing the excitement of the Big Apple. The rear of the shirt displays a Knicks secondary logo stylized in the urban textures of the city. The matching Knicks ’47 HITCH is quality-constructed from pigment-dyed black twill and embellished with embroidered details.
