SUPER BOWL XLIII: Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers comeback victory over the Cardinals in 2009 is certainly one of the most memorable Super Bowls of all time. Looking for their second Super Bowl victory in four years, the Steelers were favored against a Cardinals team led by the resurgent veteran, Kurt Warner.

Leading 17-7 at halftime, the Steelers had Super Bowl #6 in sight after James Harrison’s Super Bowl-record 100-yard interception return for a touchdown.

With the Steelers up 20-7 in the fourth quarter, the Cardinals would not go away. Arizona put up 16 straight points, including two touchdown passes from Kurt Warner to Larry Fitzgerald. The second touchdown to Fitzgerald gave Arizona its first lead of the game, 23-20, with only 2:37 remaining.

Just when it seemed Arizona had completed a comeback for the ages, back came Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers. Big Ben took the Steelers 78 yards in eight plays, capped by an incredible throw to Santonio Holmes for the game-winning touchdown. Holmes, who caught four passes for 73 yards on the game-winning drive alone, became the sixth wide receiver to be named Super Bowl MVP.
