SUPER BOWL I: Green Bay Packers
On January 15, 1967, the Packers faced the Chiefs in the first NFL-AFL World Championship, later known as Super Bowl I, at Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles.
The Packers were heavily favored, as the Chiefs and the entire AFL were still seeking recognition as a true rival to the NFL. With 60 million people watching, the Chiefs seemed a worthy competitor, only trailing 14-10 at halftime.
When Packers Safety Willie Wood intercepted the Chiefs QB Len Dawson early in the second half, the momentum quickly swung to Green Bay. Led by MVP QB Bart Starr and legendary Coach Vince Lombardi, the Packers ran away with Super Bowl I, winning 35-10.
