Hockey Fights Cancer™ — ’47 with the Assist
Ask a few fans of professional hockey what their favorite part of the sport is and well, they might say the fighting. Hey, it’s an intense face-off of high-performing athletes, and tension on the ice can make for some of the best games. But there’s a more important fight going on off the ice, and that’s the one against cancer.
Since 1998, the Hockey Fights Cancer™ charitable initiative has been uniting the community to help cancer patients and their families by raising funds that contribute to research institutions. Through special events and thoughtful storytelling, the organization is bringing more attention to the fight that so many encounter.
When you catch the games this season, you’ll notice players and arenas decked out in lavender, to show appreciation for the cause. You’ll also see individuals holding signage indicating whom they fight for. ’47 is taking on this passion too, by helping you wear it.
We’re offering premium tees with a box to fill out the name of who, or what you fight for. In addition, with the purchase of any ’47 NHL headwear in the month of November, you’ll receive a commemorative Hockey Fights Cancer™ pin, similar to the decal that will be seen on athletes helmets throughout the month. Those players might seem tough in the middle of a scuffle, but behind the scenes, it’s all love for the causes that mean the most to them, their families, fans, colleagues, and communities. Learn more about the #hockeyfightscancer initiative and donate on the Hockey Fights Cancer™ page.
