’47 Limited Edition David Ortiz Final Season Collection
With another MLB season reaching the home stretch, David Ortiz farewell celebrations are still going strong. If you’re following the ceremonies at each MLB stadium, it’s impossible not to feel the love from the baseball community –– whether in the form of a custom surfboard from the Padres, 34 pounds of salmon from the Mariners or generous donations to the David Ortiz Children’s Fund.
As a company whose roots were first planted outside Fenway Park, unsurprisingly we’ve shown our own share of gratitude to the big guy this year –– via this giant corn maze, a trip to his hometown in the Dominican Republic and a pop up space on Yawkey Way decked out with all things Big Papi.
Call us super fans if you will, but we’re still not done yet. Starting this Friday, ’47 has made another contribution, the best way we know how: in the form of customized headwear and apparel.
The last stop on the stadium farewell tour will rightfully be on the Green-Monster dwelling field that he calls home. While anxiously awaiting the unveiling of a likely Red Sox gift, we’ll be across the street at the ’47 Big Papi Shop, where fans and collectors can find limited edition caps and tees adorned with high-end embellishments in David’s honor. Enjoy a sneak peek below:
For headwear, we started with the ’47 CAPTAIN silhouette – our classic structured, flat brimmed snapback. No space or greatness was to be wasted, so the both the exterior and interior of each style is adorned with quality details, some including premium lambskin leather.
Famed quote “I swing hard all the time, that’s what I’ve done my whole life” lives on the sweatbands, while Ortiz’s embroidered signature can also be found somewhere on each piece. As a bonus, all of the headwear styles will come in a collector’s box (single or 3-pack).
Our premier soft cotton jersey material was used for the regular and raglan tees, donned with crisp and vibrant Ortiz retirement graphics. The ’47 All Time Tee even has metallic foiled details on the printed championship rings.
More details on the individual styles are available here while product lasts. We’ll have a very limited supply available at the ’47 Flagship Store on Newbury Street, where you’ll have to act quickly to score!
